My Skincare Journey: Why I Started The Facial Co. Skincare

I didn't set out to build a skincare brand. I set out to fix my own skin.

For years, I dealt with extremely sensitive skin — the kind that reacts to almost everything, that turns red at the first sign of a new product, that never quite feels settled. If you've lived with sensitive skin, you'll know exactly what I mean. It's not just a beauty inconvenience; it shapes how you feel every single day.

Finding the Gaps

Working in beauty therapy, I saw the same story play out again and again in the treatment room. Clients would come in with skin that had been through the wringer — over-exfoliated, over-actived, chasing results so hard that their skin barrier had given up entirely. I was seeing it in the mirror too. There was so much skincare out there promising results, but so little of it actually considered skin like mine — skin that needed to be nurtured before it could be pushed.

Learning to Formulate

That gap is what led me to complete a Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation. I wanted to understand skin on a deeper level — not just how to treat it in a facial room, but how to build products from the ground up that would genuinely support it. Slow, considered, ingredient-led skincare, rather than quick fixes.

Launching The Facial Co. Skincare

In 2019, that learning became The Facial Co. Skincare — a naturally derived range designed to soothe, hydrate and brighten, without the irritation I'd spent years trying to avoid. Every product was built around one simple idea: your skin deserves to feel cared for, not just treated.

Where It's Led Me

What started as a personal mission has grown into a brand that so many of you now trust with your own sensitive skin — and honestly, that still means everything to me. It's also shaped how I approach makeup artistry today, because I believe beautiful makeup always starts with healthy skin underneath.

If you've ever felt like your skin was working against you, I understand. The Facial Co. Skincare exists because I've been there too — and I'm still learning, still refining, still showing up for my own skin every single day, right alongside you.
